If you are interested in mystery shopping, you may want to check out Trendsource. I came across the review for Trendsource while visiting Earn On The Side.com, and I think Trendsource sounds pretty interesting.
Basically it is a mystery shopping company, however with a majority of their assigned jobs, you would actually reveal your identity to store owners or managers and do a short interview with them.
Basically you apply with TrendSource and once you are hired, you will get email opportunities periodically that you can either accept or not. According to the review of TrendSource on Earn On The Side, payment for jobs is usually in the $10-$25 range and will require about 30-60 minutes of your time. TrendSource will sometimes even pay for your gas if you have to drive far.
I have checked around a bit on the Internet today, and have to say I have seen positive comments on TrendSource thus far.
And from the TrendSource website:
TrendSource is a Colorado Corporation established in 1989 under the name Mystery Shoppers, Inc. Our name was changed to TrendSource® in 1999 to better reflect the services we offer including compliance audits, award programs, competitive surveys, inspections, phone surveys and other business intelligence services.
We have more than seventeen (17) years of experience in providing services to more than 75,000 business locations throughout the US and Canada. Our services have benefited more than 2,000,000 employees, supervisors, managers, and executives. We specialize in providing the highest quality work, 100% of the time, delivered to our clients in real-time.
TrendSource is a founding member of the Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) and an ISO 9001 certified company.
Go to the TrendSource Website, and read more about the company and their application process (all done via email only), and see what you think.
Also, it never hurts to check out a company further on the Internet and get a better idea of what others who may have worked for a certain company thought about their experiences. Just google TrendSource and check out the responses that come up.
Good Luck! And if you have worked for TrendSource before, or have any experience with this company, good or bad, please share with us!

I have never cared much for reveal mystery shops. They are usually more hassle than they are worth. A lot of the businesses that want these also don't seem to want an accurate reporting of what you see either. Unless the pay is super good I won't do a reveal.
Your readers who are interested in Mystery Shopping may also be interested in this page on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) website: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/mysteryalrt.shtm it provides information about how to become a legitimate mystery shopper. Hi Brad,
Thank-you for giving us some feedback on mystery shopping. It is so helpful o get people's opinions and experiences!
Thanks again!
I just started working for Trendsource, and so far I really like them. Of the two mystery shops I've done both of them have been unrevealed. I've got to to AAA and Applebee's. I think they are one of the best. I, too, am a stay at home mom trying to make ends meet with a little extra income. I joined quite a few secret shopping sites, but this is the first one to have great communication and some really great jobs.
Thanks!
