Parent & Child, a national parenting magazine published by Scholastic is seeking an assistant editor.
Duties include:
heavy research
writing
administrative support
fact-checking
product coordination
general support for other editors
occasional celebrity interviews
They are looking for a very organized, detail-oriented person who’s got a good attitude and can get things done quickly.
Qualifications:
B.A. in journalism or English preferred
Experience in magazine/newspaper/online journalism preferred
Thorough knowledge of social media, including Facebook and Twitter
Ability to write quickly and accurately with lively engaging style
Knowledge of pop culture; knowledge of parenting trends a plus.
