There are quite a few greeting card companies that accept submissions from time to time, and right now I have heard that Calypso Cards is looking for submissions for their Selfish Kitty and Kitty Muse line.
"This line has a loyal following and is contemporary, clever and edgy, although never mean, cruel or degrading. The outside text is usually innocent and the inside has an unexpected twist. Please keep the card sender, recipient and occasion in mind when writing. Selfish Kitty buyers tend to be college-educated, college-town or urban dweller women and men aged between 20 and 50"
Again, I have read on other websites that Calypso pays a flat fee of $50 for full copyright on complete, well-written card copy (both inside and outside text) with no editing necessary. After work is accepted for publication, a writer must sign a Calypso Cards Rights Agreement. But as their own website itself does not specify payment amount and terms, please inquire with the company directly to ensure you have the correct terms.
Calypso is accepting submissions for copy and artwork, and will also accept submissions for Birthday, Anniversary, Friendship/Love/Thinking of You, Get Well, Sorry, New Baby, Thank You, Belated Birthday, New Home, Congratulations, Wedding, Retirement, with particular emphasis on Birthday, Anniversary and Friendship. They also publish other products such as refrigerator magnets.
