Christmas Stories Wanted

The Common Ties site is looking for Holiday Stories! If you haven't checked out this site yet, you might want to take a look.

"The story site Common Ties has been publishing personal stories since October of 2006. Among its themes, Common Ties is looking for holiday stories. As a reference, here is a link to the holiday stories we published a year ago.

The holidays are a time for reconnecting with family and friends, but that this can lead to unexpected drama. We are looking for stories not only about the holidays themselves, and how they were celebrated, but the other underyling issues that came about due to the family gatherings. Your story can be written using your byline or a pen name and should be between 750 and 1,500 words. (If you prefer to write a shorter story, please see the Quickies Guidelines.)

We purchase both original stories and reprints. Payments are typically between $100 and $200 per story, although writers can suggest another amount. Should your story be accepted, we may approach you to record it for additional compensation. Accepted stories appear online and some may appear in book anthologies. All submissions are kept confidential. To learn more about writing for Common Ties, please see our Submission Guidelines."

Common Ties is also looking for writers for their new "20 Questions" section.
