Title - PR representative
Role
Act as a PR representative/spokesperson for a website that offers a new innovative and fun service for parents of newborn babies. Your objective is to help us get positive publicity (e.g., articles or other mentions) in baby/parenting-related magazines and in baby/parenting-related sections of general circulation newspapers.
We will provide you with relevant contacts in magazines and newspapers, and will expect you to augment this list over time. In addition, we will provide you with some supporting material (e.g., preparation script for reporter's questions). Your role is to represent our website in interactions (e.g., phone interviews) with writers/reporters, discuss our website with them, and answer any questions that they may have.
Work hours
Part-time. Weekly time commitment flexible. Expected to average around 10 hours per week.
Location
Anywhere. You will work remotely (e.g., from home) through phone and email.
Qualifications
Experience with babies/parenting (for instance, you may be a stay-at-home mom who wants to do some interesting part-time work)
Comfortable speaking with a magazine writer/reporter
Experience in communications, marketing, or sales is helpful, but not required Compensation: Approximately $15-25 per hour, depending on experience.
