Work at Home: No Experience Required - Freelance Transcription With Scribie

At Scribie.com, people can submit interviews that they wish to have transcribed into transcripts. Interviews are broken up into small files of about 6 minutes each. Because they offer work from home opportunities for freelance transcribers, Scribie can make be a great resource for making extra income online.

Best of all, you do not need prior transcription experience to work for Scribie. But you will need to have fast typing speed and excellent listening skills.

You are paid $1 per each 6 minute file you transcribe, so that will mean you earn roughly $10/hr depending on how quickly you work. Payments are made through PayPal, and you can withdraw your earnings at anytime-though I do believe if the amount is under $30 you will pay a 2% fee.

Once approved you can login to your Scribie.com account anytime and select files which are available for transcription and/or review.

The more experienced you are in transcription, the more you should be able to make. However, even if you are new to transcribing, Scribie can be an excellent source to gain experience and practice your skills.

Requirements:

Fast typing speed
Good comprehension of English
A verified PayPal account (linked to a bank account or credit card)
Own computer and internet connection
Good quality headset
Either Firefox, Chrome or Safari web browser
Latest version of Adobe Flash Player for your web browser

The approval process begins with the application. If your application is accepted after review, you will be added to the waiting list for transcription test. An invite for the test will be sent to your email address once they have test files available for you. The invitation will contain a link which will prompt you to create an account on Scribie.com. Once the account is created you can select a file from the list of available files and submit the transcript.

Depending on the results of the review you may be approved as a transcriber (and paid for the test file) or rejected. If rejected, you will be provided with the reviewed file so that you can compare it against your submission. You may submit another test file. The maximum number of attempts is 10.
