Work at Home: Telecommute Editing and Proofreading at Scribendi is accepting applications for editors and proofreaders. These are 100% remote/telecommute positions where you will be able  to pick and choose assignments based on your interests and expertise.

A college degree is required, and all applicants must be native English speakers. You will also need to have a Paypal account in order to be paid.

You should be moderately advanced in computer and Internet knowledge. You need to be extremely comfortable with downloading and uploading files, attaching files to e-mails, saving and finding files on your computer, file transfers, renaming files, using a web site interface, and using an instant messaging service.

  • A college diploma or university degree in a relevant field
  • At least three years of experience in editing, writing, document production, or language teaching
  • English must be your native language
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills, and the ability to follow written instructions and work with minimal supervision
  • Be absolutely fanatical about meeting deadlines
  • An average editing/proofreading speed of about 1000-1,500 words per hour
  • Microsoft Word 2007 (preferably Word 2010) or higher on a secure PC computer
