Demand Studios Hiring Freelance Copy Editors

Demand Media Studios is hiring freelance copy editors. To qualify, you must be proficient with AP Style and have a minimum of two years’ work experience as a Managing, Line, Features, Section or Associate Editor.

This is a freelance position which pays $3.50 for every 300-500 word article reviewed. Per the Demand Media Studios job posting, most editors are earning an average of $20 to $25 per hour.

Copy Editors will log in to their personal online Work Desk where there will be a queue of articles that need to be edited. You will fact-check and edit articles for grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and overall content. If you have questions for the writer, you will send them directly through the online editing tools. You’ll have 24 hours to edit each article, and you will receive twice weekly payments for each reviewed piece.

Mom.com is seeking freelance copywriters to produce outstanding, concise copy describing Mom.com deals to consumers.

Responsibilities will include:
researching to learn more about merchants newspaper articles, Yelp reviews, etc.
finding appropriate photos to accompany deals

taking feedback and editing articles appropriately

making sure that copy is on-point with merchant goals and requirements

Experience and Skills:
1-3 years relevant copywriting experience
Exceptional writing skills, particularly the ability to stay on brand without sounding corporate
Experience with / knowledge of marketing or advertising industry
Familiarity with CMS and photo-editing tools
Familiarity with daily deals sites a strong plus
