Another resource for stay at home moms (and anyone else) to earn some extra money from home is by taking pictures with a digital camera.

Take pictures, upload them for free to a stock photo site, and make money when your picture is sold. Fun, easy, and something you can do everyday!

What kind of pictures should you take? Pictures of things related to technology usually work well, such as keyboards and screens. Nature shots like sky and clouds, landscapes, recognizable landmarks, and textures are in high demand as well. And pictures of people are always good.

If you need ideas for pictures, just browse through the selections offered at stock photo sites online, and check out the most popular and most downloaded. Just try to take good quality pictures, and the largest size pictures your camera can. And remember the more you take, the better.

If you use people or other's personal property in your photos, don't forget to have them sign a release that allows you to use their likeness for commercial purposes. Most stock photo sites will have release forms you can use.

Also, different stock photo sites will probably have different copyright policies. Read them very carefully.

When uploading your photos, you will need to select a category and keywords for each. It is very very important to choose good keywords, as this is what your potential customers will be searching for to find your image. Try to list each element in your photo, even small details are important like the color of a flower.

I have heard that Fotolia is easy to get started with, with a fairly easy application and approval process.

Have you heard of Greeting Card Universe? You sign up for free, design and open your own online store (free), and then design your own greeting cards by uploading your on creative designs and wording for your cards.

Cards sell for $1.99 each. Designers/sellers are given 50 cents for each sale. As a designer/store owner, you are able to purchase your own cards at a discount ($1.49 each). So, you can buy these cards and sell them for a higher price elsewhere.

Payments are through Paypal or check, once the $25.00 minimum is reached.

You also have the option to make your designs available as free ecards. When these ecards are sent, there’s an ad that will say something like “This free ecard is also available as a print greeting card.” - pointing to where they can buy it online.

Another cool thing about Greeting Card Universe is that they are the only greeting card provider for BigDates-Solutions.com, which is the leader in reminder service solutions. Through reminder emails that their customers sign up for, your cards will be suggested to the right people, at the right time for the right occasion (birthday, anniversary, etc.)

There is also an option offered by Greeting Card Universe where you simply choose cards that you like, design a widget with those designs, add it to your blog, and when someone clicks through from your widget to their site, and purchases any greeting cards ( not just the ones shown on your widget), you will be paid .50 for each card sold.

I have not actually tried this myself, but I thought it sounded interesting and could be worth checking out, especially for creative artistic moms at home looking for extra income resources.
