Seven Get Paid To Write Websites

Writing and getting paid for it can be a nice way to make money from home, and I know quite a few work at home moms that make a nice income from freelance writing. Here is a list of seven sites that will pay you to write articles for them. Not every site will have the same get paid to write format and writer application guidelines, so be sure to check each one out carefully.

This is not a complete list by any means. There are more get paid to write sites out there, and so I will do my best to update and add to the list often.

Good Luck!

Thinking of Trying Direct Selling to Make Extra Money?

Direct Selling is a definite work at home resource that many moms (and Dads) swear by when it comes to maing extra income. Although I have come across many a mom that does so well with their direct marketing businesses that the income is much more than "supplemental."

I personally have not ever had the true desire/motivation to venture into the Direct Sales approach to earning an income: I just am not the outgoing strong personality that I believe is needed for this business. Not to say I haven't considered it, and still check out opportunities from time to time. But for all the moms and dads that are considering joining a company's direct selling program, here are a some questions you should ask the company you are considering signing up with:

First, is the company a member of the Direct Selling Association? The dsa.org is an association of companies that manufacture and distribute goods sold directly to consumers.

Second, will you need to invest any money to get started? Many times companies require you to purchase a starter pack, which includes training materials and product samples. These packs will be various in prices, with some being more affordable than others. Make sure you'll be able to return unused products if you decide not to continue.

Make sure you understand what training will be offered and required upfront. Will you need to travel for training sessions? If so, will you be reimbursed for travel expenses? Will there be support online or via phone when you need it?

Also. you will want to know exactly how you will be paid. Some companies will pay commission only while others may use a commission/salary plan. And many companies may have a commission plan where you will be paid not only for your sales, but you will also earn a commission on sales made by sellers whom you recruit. These sellers, known as your "downline," will be responsibility to manage. The larger your downline, the larger your paycheck. But you need to have time for recruiting and managing your downline, as well as handling your own business.

Finally, you will want to talk with current sales representatives and ask them how much money they make, how many hours they work, and if they have any complaints. The more you know about the job, the better you'll be able to decide if it will be something you will enjoy doing, and make money with!

A New Bathroom For This Work at Home Mom?

Yes, I want to redo our master bathroom. Of course want and need are two different things, and the truth of the matter is that we really do not need to redo our bathroom just yet. But I have a bad case of bathroom envy because my neighbor up the street just redid hers and it's beautiful! Sigh. So I went looking online today anyway to look at ideas for when and if we ever do get to do a bathroom suite makeover.
And while it was fun doing my fantasy online shopping, I realized that our bathroom is really fine ( of course it could be better with a jacuzzi bathtub, hehe), and I was just being consumed by "wanna have" envy. My neighbor works full time, as does her husband. And that is fine. But I realized as I surfed the Internet checking out gorgeous bathroom fixtures, that everything is a trade off. Yes, I could work outside the home full time and maybe have the extra money to redo a bathroom or get new carpeting, or whatever. But the trade off would be of course being away from my kids and for me, a new bathroom is not worth it.
So, I can live with my master bathroom, and I can live with my choice to be a stay at home mom and a work at home mom.
Remodeling can wait.Jacuzzi bathtubs can wait. My kids are only little for a minute in time.

Stay at Home Moms Wanted For Pet Sitting Company

An at home dog babysitting company, Sleepover Rover ( don't you think that is a great name?), needs stay at home moms, dads, grandparents, etc. to be hosts for in home dog stays.

You need to be a full time stay at home mom, work at home mom ( or dad, or grandparent etc ) that will basically be able to care for their doggie client full time. Short absences up to 4 hours are fine...it's just not a good fit for those that have full time job outside of the home.

If you become a host for Sleepover Rover, you will always get to meet the clients before committing to be their dog sitter. Typical stays are from 3-10 days. Hosts make from $22.00/day and up. Pet safe yards are a plus but not required.

Right now Sleepover Rover is serving these areas:

* Los Angeles, CA
* San Diego, CA
* Las Vegas, NV
* Denver, CO
* Phoenix, AZ
* Tucson, AZ

And while I think their need is in the Los Angeles area right now, if you are interested in this working from home opportunity, you should still check it out and apply if any of the other areas are good for you.

It looks easy to apply as a dog sitter...you can do so right online, and there is also a phone number listed on their website if you'd rather just call to get started.

Good Luck!

Stay At Home Moms Need To Watch Out For The Rut!

Being a full time mommy at home has it's rewards, to be sure, but it also has it's drawbacks. When you combine the 'staying at home' with the 'trying to work from home' solution, things can get a bit hairy, at least for me.

I find my daily routine going in one of two ways: either I get glued to my laptop early on in the morning and end up more stressed than ever as I try to get my work done and keep my two little guys happy, or I spend the day cleaning, playing with the boys, and shooting my laptop alternating looks of yearning and of annoyance that it is there on my desk taunting me! (really--my laptop is obnoxious!)

I can never seem to find the happy balance that I dream of in my sleep. Ack. But whichever path a certain day will end up following, there is little in the way of changes or newness to my routines. I rarely put on make-up ( aren't you so happy to know that?), or put on much more than old jeans and an equally old shirt. And aside from going up and down my stairs like a gazillion times a day to get a diaper, find a lost bottle, chase the new puppy, save my one year old before he tumbles down the latest climbing structure he has devised, and so on, I can't say I exercise.

So when I read an article about stay at home moms and the ruts we can fall into, I really took note. The author, Kimberly Danger, makes the point that we need to nurture ourselves ( I think we all know this, but most of us tend to 'skip' on the self-nurturing anyway), in order to improve our outlook on life and feel better about ourselves. Kimberly lists about 25 suggestions of things to try to bring some newness to our daily routine and at the same time help improve our own confidence and self-esteem.

I read though her list, and while I know I won't be doing everything on there, a couple of things caught my eye and made me nod my head and say "yea..I can do that!"

So here's Kimberly's list, see if there is anything that grabs you, and guess which ones I did today! I did three things on the list, and I added one not on the list-- Put on make-up! And it felt good too, lol, and it even made my husband look twice (really!).
