Hire A Helper...A Freelance Job Resource?

I came across Hire A Helper.com today, and found it interesting. I have no personal experience with the company, other than what I have read on the website and Internet today, but thought I'd pas on the information for anyone interested.

Hire a Helper seems to be like a CraigsList of sorts, but with a few differences. First, the main service area they offer is apparently moving services. However, they also offer lawn care help, cleaning, day labor, and construction clean up. Clients can peruse the listings of those people that have registered and listed their area of service and their prices.

If you sign up as a helper, you are working as an Independent Contractor, not an employee. So how much you charge is up to you. There is a 15% fee deducted from your earnings, per each job you complete. That is to cover advertising and other fees.

To sign up, you provide your contact and payment information, select the services you’d like to offer, set your own rates and availability, and check your e-mail daily for job notifications.

Anyone with feedback on Hire A Helper? We'd love to hear about it!

Make Money Online With Reviews

Quite some time back I posted about Shared Reviews. They are still going strong today, and are adding a new segment to their website which is basically getting paid to write assigned content as requested by customers.

Shared Reviews is a social network where you share your reviews of products with others. By socializing and joining groups on Shared Reviews, you increase your chances of getting votes on your reviews. The more votes, the more you'll make.

The content writing aspect is due to go live in January, but you can apply now to be a content producer. You can check out Shared Reviews Content Author requirements and apply online, and also check out Shared Reviews Social Networking site and sign up to become a reviewer as well online.

Maybe another source of extra income for the New Year-- it is about that time to start thinking about new goals, right?

If you do sign up--Good Luck!

Get Paid To Write Website

First, let me say I have not tried this get paid to write website myself, yet, so I cannot give any personal recommendation or share any experience from using it. But with that said, I still thought I would share the site here for anyone that would like to check it out.

The site itself is called Get Paid Writing Articles. You simply register with the site and you can get started instantly. Unfortunately, there is not too much specific information given regarding how much you can get paid. Reading through the site, it appears that articles should be 500 words in length. There is an online template (much like Associated Content) for writing your articles, and as soon as an article is approved, you are paid through paypal.

So check out this get paid to write website, and see what you think. If you do try it, or have already used it before, please share with us what you think about it.

Thanks, and of course, Good Luck!

Work at Home as an ESL Teacher Online

Hmmm....interesting work at home opportunity here. First off, I know the title states ESL teacher, but ESL experience (English as a second language) is not required as complete training is provided. So no worries on that aspect.

The company is "I Speak U Speak", ISUS, and is dedicated to international online ESL training.

Basic responsibilities of an ESL Online teacher are:

* Teaching class sessions via the telephone (20 to 25 minute sessions). Students receive approximately 1 class a week.
* Sending corrections and feedback after every session (5 to 10 minutes).
* Monitoring student's progress on Global English.

ESL Telephone teachers work year-round,and can normally teach up to 25-30 hours a week, Monday to Friday although teachers can work as little or as much as they want.

Because there are many different students in various time zones, there is quite a bit of flexibility as far as working hours goes. Most teachers prefer to work in blocks of 2-4 hours.

Class sessions last half an hour per session with 20-25 minutes for class and 5 to 10 minutes for feedback/correction.

Teachers are hired as freelance workers, and are paid for the number of hours they do on a monthly basis. Rates of pay are very competitive and quoted according to your country of fiscal residence and local currency.

Telephone cost compensation is paid on a monthly basis according to a fixed rate telephone cost budget using VOIP (Voice Over IP) telecommunications packages such as Skype. A contract is provided to establish rate of pay, payment method and and procedure.

Read more about working at home as an ESL Teacher at ISUS, and how to apply (you can get started online by emailing your resume..)

An Award For Me and My Blog!!

Awards are so great-- I love when a fellow blogger thinks my blog is worthy of sharing in such an honor! So big thanks going to Lyla from It's Five 0'Clock Somewhere for giving me this award!

Isn't it pretty? It is a Portugese award, and the translation goes--

“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us ‘close’ - being close through proxy]. These blogs are all charming and they aim to show the marvels of friendship. Let’s give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to seven bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”

I find it so difficult to choose seven bloggers because there are many fantastic blogs I read daily and I love them all. But seven it is, so here are mine:

1. It Is Nap Time

2. Super Mae

3. Mama And Hustler

4. 4 Cats Make Me Crazy

5. Mom Times Three

6. Weekly Beef

7. Thrifty Thoughts

Work From Home As An Employment Verification Specialist

3 Stars Media has work at home jobs available in their Employment Screening Network. This work at home job requires a quiet workplace, A USB port headset (These may be purchased for about $20 - $30 at any Best Buy or Office Depot type stores. No phone is needed as headset plugs directly into your computer), computer with high speed internet connection, professional speaking voice and a strong work ethic.

What you would be doing is verifying information already received on the application such as name, address and e-mail. Also asking for additional information as required by the employer that may have not been on the application. For example, the amount of expected income, specific licenses or awards received, and the reason for leaving previous position. You would also provide information to the applicant as directed by the employer. Information may range from job details, to scheduling interviews, or directing the applicant to another Web site. To make offers to qualified individuals. Employment Select's model is advertising supported so part of the process is at the conclusion of the interview to ask the applicant if they would like to receive information from an advertising partner. You do not have to worry that this is a sales job--you are not selling, just asking if applicants would like information about a product or services.

All calls are inbound--which is nice. This means you are answering calls coming in to you, not you calling people.
